The final VnExpress Marathon event of the year offered prizes totaling VND1.5 billion (US$60,560). Those who finished the races got different medal string colors depending on the distance: 5, 10, 21 and 42 km.

The 42-km race started at the Hoan Kiem Lake with runners going past Trang Tien Street and the Hanoi Opera House minutes later.
