Vietnam tennis ace moves closer to Grand Slam qualification

Ly Hoang Nam, Vietnam's number one tennis player, has a great chance to attend the Australian Open for the first time in his career following recent achievements.

Since May, Nam has shown great progress in ATP world rankings thanks to his success at international tournaments. With the recent M25 Tay Ninh title and 25 additional ranking points, Nam is expected to enter the top 250 in the update next week.

Ly Hoang Nam has made progress on ATP world ranking in 2022.

If Nam can maintain his place in the ATP top 250, he could qualify for the 2023 Australian Open, one of the four most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world.

Nam will compete in another M25 tournament in Indonesia and especially four Challenger Tour 80 events in Japan this November.

The 25-year-old and his coaching team also contacted top players in Asia to play and train against to ensure a professional and high-level environment in which to thrive.

At his current level, Nam can compete in the Challenger Tour 50 and 80, then move on to higher ranks like Tour 100, 125 and 250.
