So far, Bac Giang has had hundreds of OCOP products, contributing to promoting economic development and improving the lives of rural residents.
Affirming position, increasing competitiveness
Being aware of the importance of the OCOP program, Bac Giang province has directed the implementation as soon as the project was issued. With the dynamism and sensitivity of participants, so far, the province has had nearly 250 products recognized as OCOP products of three stars or more. All the recognized products are made by traditional craft villages, such as Chu and Chau Son noodles, Van wine and Da Mai vermicelli. This is the driving force promoting the development of the agricultural and rural economy in the direction of increasing the value of products and goods, making positive contributions to the province's socio-economic development.
Especially, Luc Ngan and Phuc Hoa lychees have been exported to demanding markets with like the US, the EU, Japan and Australia. Some products are exported in the processed form or through a third party such as Green Chu noodles to Japan and dried lychees to the Middle East market.

Duong Thanh Tung, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: “The OCOP program has raised the levels for Bac Giang agricultural products, helping them affirm their position and increase their competitiveness. As a result, consumption is favorable in both domestic and export markets”.
Developing specific action plans
According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, promoting local advantages, in 2018-2022, Bac Giang supported more than 100 cooperatives and enterprises with about 350 OCOP products and typical products in joining fairs, exhibitions, supply-demand matching forums.
The provincial Post Office and Viettel Post coordinated in transporting OCOP products and introduced businesses and cooperatives with such products to sell them on e-commerce platforms. OCOP producers have also received training and gradually mastered new selling methods. Currently, more than 80% of OCOP products are traded on e-commerce platforms and other distribution channels. By 2030, the province strives to have about 350 OCOP products, of which, four are 5-star, more than 130 are 4-star and the rest are 3-star. To achieve this goal, in the following years, Bac Giang will focus on preserving and developing crafts, craft villages, rural services, community-based tourism, and eco-tourism. It will increase support for the development of the collective economic sector, cooperatives, farms, and OCOP producers.
The province will build and complete production-consumption chains in order to improve the quality of OCOP products, meeting the increasing requirements of the market. It will encourage the establishment of many new cooperatives to reorganize production, thereby creating a standard process for large-scale commodity production under the OCOP program.
Affirming the role of the OCOP program, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong emphasized that this is a major policy of the Party and State and a premise to promote the agricultural and rural economy. He affirmed that Bac Giang boasts huge potential and opportunities to develop OCOP products. Therefore, in the coming time, authorities at all levels, agencies and localities should pay attention to increasing the number and improving structure of products. The districts and Bac Giang city should build specific lists and then clear actions and orientations for implementation.
