(BGO) - So far, Tan Yen district has harvested over 90 percent of early ripening lychee and earned highest revenue ever, reported the district Division of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Thanks to favorable weather condition and rich cultivation experience, the district yielded high productivity of 16,500 tonnes, up more than 3,300 tonnes comparing to the same period last year. The concentrated lychee growing area is mostly in the communes of Phuc Hoa, Tan Trung and Lien Chung.

The early ripening lychees are sold at 20-35,000 VND per kg so the district expects to earn highest ever revenue of over 450 billion VND (19.4 million USD), 125 billion VND higher than the previous season.
This season, the fruits are brought to new and high-end markets such as Japan, Republic of Korea, EU, Lao and Cambodia.
In general, lychee growers in Tan Yen district enjoys a bumper lychee crop with ease consumption. Some households earned interest of dozens of million VND from lychee.
The family of Ngo Van Cuong in Quat Du village No.1, Phuc Hoa commune grew over one ha of lychee in this crop and harvested 17 tonnes of fruit. With average selling price of 27,000 VND per kg, he gained interest of over 200 million VND.
