National Badminton Championship 2022 for Excellent Players kicks off in Bac Giang

(BGO) - The National Badminton Championship 2022 for Excellent Players, RedSon Cup officially kicked off on April 11 at Bac Giang provincial Gymnasium under the joint collaboration of Vietnam Sports Administration and Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The event drew nearly 200 officials, coaches and athletes from 16 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide (including 141 national top players, most of whom will participate in the upcoming 31st South East Asian Games or SEA Games 31).

The athletes compete at five categories of men's singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. Each player is allowed to join at most two contents.

15 outstanding members of Bac Giang delegation participate in five events with seven male and eight female players, such as Tran Thi Phuong Thuy, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan, Than Van Anh and Pham Van Hai.

The championship helps evaluate the qualification of athletes and provides members of national badminton team with chance to complete the technique, strategy and physical strength for SEA Games 31 to be held in Bac Giang city in the middle of May.

The championships will last till April 17.
