Kawasaki Frontale, champions of the top-flight J1 League 2020, will build a football academy for young talents in Vietnam.
Real estate agency Becamex Tokyu and Kawasaki Frontale have signed a cooperative deal to develop a football academy in the southern Binh Duong Province, which is set to open in October this year for children from five to 12.
The U13 International Youth Tournament, hosted by Becamex Binh Duong and Kawasaki Frontale in 2019.
The academy was established in order to discover and foster students with football talent, connecting them to clubs and other professional youth football training academies in Vietnam and Japan.
Since 2013, Kawasaki Frontale and Becamex Binh Duong have continuously hosted training activities in Vietnam, sent coaches to football academies and organized the U13 International Youth Tournament.
"VFF believes with its experience in organizing cultural and sports exchanges between Vietnam and Japan in the past years, the establishment of the academy will mark a new chapter for football in Binh Duong and contribute more young talents to Vietnamese football," Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Vice President Cao Van Chong said.
"With our accumulated experience in Japan, we want to further promote the development of Vietnamese football," Keigo Ikeda, an Kawasaki Frontale expert, noted.
Kawasaki Frontale has sent coaches and experts certified by Japan Football Association to Binh Duong to guide students with the goal of improving training quality and encouraging a love of football among children aged 12.
