(BGO)- The doctors of Bac Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital at the night of February 12 performed an operation for Dang Thi T (32 years old) in Huyen Son commune (Luc Nam district) and welcomed the first test tube baby born at the hospital. The operation was conducted by Director of the hospital Le Cong Tuoc and other doctors, nurses and technicians.
The woman went into labor when she was 40 weeks pregnant, then she was quickly brought into the operation room at the night of February 12. The 3.2-kilo baby first cried out at 21h06 in great joys of the doctors and her family.

“We got married years ago but we hadn’t had a child after long treatment at different facilities. We are really grateful to the doctors of Bac Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital for giving us this happiness”, said Pham Van T, the woman’s husband.

“This is the first case applied assisted reproductive technology with in vitro fertilization (IVF) technique at the hospital; thus, the patient, her family and the doctors coped with great pressure. During monitoring the pregnancy, we regularly instructed the pregnant woman to use medicine and follow the treatment and caring procedures to ensure the best health condition of the mother and baby”, said doctor Le Cong Tuoc.

The first test tube baby born at Bac Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital marked a dramatic progress in assisted reproductive high technologies of Bac Giang province.
Bac Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital conducted the first IVF case on May 19, 2022. To date, 30 cases have been successfully transferred embryos including 18 pregnancies.
