Temperatures will plunge further and this will combine with scattered rainfall in the North early next week as a cold spell is expected to overwhelm the region over the next few days.
According to the national weather service, the North is still enjoying sunny days and the weather will get warmer this weekend.
However, from December 14, the cold air will intensify, bringing along rains and lowering temperature in the region with highest temperatures not exceeding 22C.

From December 15-16, the region will be overwhelmed by the chill and rain, with mountainous areas suffering most from the cold.
Health experts recommend locals keep warm, especially the elderly and children, while increasing the body's resistance by supplementing it with more found in vegetables, fruits and other spices.
Meanwhile, the South, Central Highlands and the central region will suffer scattered showers and thunderstorms from now until December 20.
