The Vietnamese team won a gold medal at the 32nd International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) which was held online on September 13-23.
All four candidates of the Vietnamese team participating in the competition seized medals, including one gold medal, two silvers and one bronze.

The gold medal went to Bui Hong Duc, a 12th grader at the High School for Gifted Students under Hanoi National University. Duc was also the youngest member of the Vietnamese team, having also won a gold medal at the competition in 2019.
Vu Hoang Kien, a 12th grader, and Le Quang Huy, a 11th grader, from the High School for Gifted Students under Hanoi National University won silver medals at the competition.
The bronze medal belonged to Tran Quang Thanh, a 12th grader at the High School for Gifted Students under the Hanoi National University of Education.
Bui Hong Duc ranked 11th out of 343 candidates and the Vietnamese team ranked 9th out of the 87 teams attending the competition.
In 2019, the Vietnamese team won two golds, one silver and one bronze to rank fourth after Russia, China and the US.
The 32nd International Olympiad is hosted by Singapore. A total of 171 candidates won medals at this year’s competition, including 29 golds, 58 silvers and 84 bronzes.
The Vietnamese team participated in the competition at the Hanoi University of Engineering and Technology, a member of the Vietnam National University and was monitored via the camera system.
