As many as 350 Vietnamese citizens were brought home from Japan on July 15 under the coordination of Vietnam’s representative agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and the relevant authorities of the two countries.
The passengers included children aged below 18, the elderly, pregnant women, the sick, workers whose visas and labour contracts have expired, students without residence due to dormitory closure and other especially disadvantaged cases.
The airline took security, safety and quarantine measures very seriously during the flight.
After landing at Noi Bai International Airport, all the passengers and flight crew underwent health checks and were put into quarantine in line with Vietnam’s regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control.
In accordance with the Prime Minister’s directions, similar flights will be conducted in the near future to return citizens to the homeland, taking into account the capacity of domestic quarantine areas.
