High productivity - Labor safety - Good income
Following this year's theme of "High Productivity - Labor Safety - Good Income", the provincial Labor Confederation has soon developed a plan to organize the Workers’ Month and then directed grassroots-level trade unions to keep a close watch on the reality, give timely recommendations and develop action plans suitable to the actual situation in each unit and enterprise.
In addition to 300 million VND spent to buy gifts to workers affected by the epidemic and 10 "trade union shelters" worth 300 million VND to be given to those in need, the provincial Labour Confederation also presented gifts to six trade union members unfortunately suffering from industrial accidents and occupational diseases.
In May, higher-level trade unions selected and organized many meaningful activities. The trade unions of industrial zones with a largest number of members in the province have focused on mobilizing resources to support members affected by the pandemic. They have also supervised the implementation of the labor-related legal regulations, thereby grasping the situation, promptly reporting arising problems and difficulties of enterprises and employees to authorised agencies for timely settlement and protection of legitimate rights and interests of trade union members.
In addition to taking care of and supporting workers to help them stabilise their lives, trade unions at all levels identify the key task of launching the “Good, creative and safe labor” emulation movement to raise income for members.
For five consecutive years, the Bac Giang LNG Garment Joint Stock Company (Luc Nam district) has organized the contest "Productivity - Quality" among production groups in the Workers’ Month. This year, the contest attracted 41 groups and 1,800 workers. Recently, the organizers awarded 12 excellent groups and 30 workers.
To promote the achieved results and create hallmarks of trade unions during the Workers' Month, in the coming time, trade unions at all levels will continue to renovate the operational method, attract more and more employees to join in as members, and raise the rate of grassroots-level trade unions in enterprises.
They will step up the “Good, creative labor” emulation movement; continue to coordinate with units and enterprises to sign agreements on members' welfare and support employees when using products and services, thus contributing to improving the quality of workers' life and creating a close link between them and trade unions.
