(BGO) – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DoFA) has coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) in Bac Giang province and the People’s Committee in Luc Nam district to call for the non-refundable aid from the Embassy of Japan to build the bridge on Mong port in Luc Son commune, Luc Nam district.
On February 28, the Japanese Ambassador Kunio Umeda and Vice Secretary of the Bac Giang provincial HCMCYU Than Trung Kien inked the project support contract under the witness of DoFA and Yokoi Mould Vietnam Company.
At the event.
The bridge on Mong port links the key road from the center of Luc Son commune to Truong Son commune. Also, it is the main road for the locals in 7 hamlets in the commune, including Tho Son, Choi 1, Choi 2, Goc De, Dong Vanh 1, Dong Vanh 2 and Ho Lao.
The old bridge has small aperture (low and weak bridge surface). For years, the bridge has been flooded on the rain season, leading to high risk to the locals when passing on it or even isolating the localities.
The Embassy of Japan aids over 1.6 billion VND to build the bridge on Mong port in Bac Giang province.
The bridge project on Mong port will be executed within 12 months with total aid of 69.222USD from the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam. Its completion is expected to ease the travel demand for the residents and contribute to the socio-economic development in the specially difficult mountainous area in Luc Nam district.
