BGO)- The Organising Board of the Scientific Innovation Contests in the northern province of Bac Giang held the sum-up ceremony on 31 October to honour scientific inventors in 2019. The event was attended by Duong Van Thai, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and Dang Vu Minh, Chairperson of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.
With the creativity and desire to create useful products for production, working and living, more than 2,000 patterns, products and 126 solutions participated in the 18th provincial Technical Innovation Contest in 2018-2019 and the 15th Junior Creativy Contest jointly held by the provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations and some related departments and agencies.
Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Duong Van Thai and Chairperson of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations Dang Vu Minh present the first prize to the inventors.
At the ceremony, the Organising Board honoured 143 authors and groups of authors of 79 patterns, products and solutions winning prizes at the contests including 7 first prizes, 14 second prizes, 21 third prizes and 37 consolation prizes.
Particularly, 7 first prizes came to the project themed evaluating scanning results and coronary attery intervention through skin by Nguyen Hoang Long, the provincial General Hospital, the solution for improving self-study and collaboration of students with teaching methods by Tran Thi Ha Phuong, Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, the solution for VKTE controllers via mobile internet by groups of authors Do Trung Kien and Hoang Thi Quyen from Vietnam-Korea Vocational College of Technology, the model selecting P15 rice seed by Bac Giang Plant Breeding Joint Stock Company, the project manufacturing automatic machine to put cucumber into bottles and tin cans by Luong Xuan Huy, G.O.C Food Processing Joint Stock Company, online supermarket chain software supplying safe farm produce by Duong Quang Thanh, Thang town junior high school in Hiep Hoa district and the group of authors from Phuong Son high school in Luc Nam district with the product “Automatic puller system to support marking of multiple choice test via telephone” .
12 collectives and individuals were awarded certificate of merit for their outstanding achievements in propagandizing and organizing the contests.
On this occasion, the provincial People’s Comiitee awarded certificate of merit to Nguyen Duc Duong, the student of class 8A and his teacher Nguyen Duc Quynh from Tan Dan junior high school, Yen Dung district with the model of mini rice transplanter and Doan Binh An, Le Hoang Khoa, class 8A2, Nguyen Ngoc Son, class 6A3 and teacher Duong Quoc Hung from Le Quy Don junior high school in Bac Giang city who won third prize at the National invention contest for youth and children.

Addressing the event, Duong Van Thai highly appreciated and congratulated the collectives and individuals for their outstanding achievements at the contests. He stressed, this is a meaningful playground attracting participation of people of all strata, which awakens and promotes creativity and makes positive contributions to training qualified human resource meeting the demands of industrialization and modernization of the province.
He asked the party committees, governments, sectors and unions to pay more attention to scientific and technological activities and related competitions.
By this occasion, the Organising Board launched the 9th provincial Technical Innovation Contest and the 16th Junior Creativity Contest in 2020.
