Programme helps poor students pursue study

The “Vi em hieu hoc” (Because you are studious) programme has presented 125,000 scholarships worth 125 billion VND (5.37 million USD) to studious pupils in disadvantaged communes nationwide since it was launched in 2014.

Under the programme, 2,510 scholarships valued at 2.15 billion VND (92,570 USD) were granted to students in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang, heard a meeting held in the locality on October 8.

The “Vi em hieu hoc” programme has presented 125,000 scholarships worth 125 billion VND (5.37 million USD) to studious pupils in disadvantaged communes nationwide since it was launched in 2014.

The ten-year programme is jointly carried out by the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel), the Ministry of Education and Training, Radio The Voice of Vietnam and the Vietnam Study Encouragement Association.

Apart from scholarships, Viettel has provided free cardiac and oral surgeries for children in localities, built houses and presented cows, saving books and gifts to residents in remote, border and island areas.

On this occasion, the group presented 90 scholarships, each worth 1 million VND (43 USD), to needy students in Ke Sach district, Soc Trang province.

It aims to grant scholarships valued at 430 million VND (18,500 USD) to students in underprivileged communes in Soc Trang this year.

Scholarships presented to poor students in Binh Duong
The Republic of Korea General Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City and the Korean Business Association in the southern province of Binh Duong presented 219 scholarships worth over 700 million VND (30,400 USD) to poor students with outstanding academic performance on October 7.

(BGO) – The fourth “Dream on the wings” programme in 2019 was launched on September 8 at the Bac Giang provincial Convention Center by the joint collaboration of Bac Giang Newspaper, the provincial Study Encouragement Association and the provincial Association for Protection of Children’s Rights.

As many as 179 scholarships totally worth more than 2 billion VND (about 86,140 USD) have been presented to disadvantaged students in the Central Highlands and the south-central provinces of Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa.

Odon Vallet scholarships worth nearly 3 billion VND (129,100 USD) were awarded to 276 students in the central provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri at ceremony held in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province, on August 28.
 
Vallet scholarships granted to more than 500 high school students
More than 500 outstanding students from 58 high schools and six SOS children's villages in the north received Vallet scholarships at a ceremony in Hanoi on August 26.
