Bac Giang city launches Action Month for the Poor

(BGO) – The Fatherland Front’s Committee in Bac Giang city on October 9 launched the Action Month for the Poor, lasting from October 17 to November 18 when all organizations, agencies and enterprises are appealed to join hand to help the poor and families with special difficult circumstances to improve their living standard.

The officers, public servants, staff and laborers are encouraged to donate at least one day salary or income, the producers, businesses as well as households are called to support 50,000 VND (2.1 USD) and 20,000 VND as minimum rate respectively.

Duong Phuong Thanh, Chairwoman of the Bac Giang municipal Women’s Association hands over the donated expense to support the building of a Humanitarian house for Nguyen Thi Hue, member of Division Tien Mon 2, Le Loi ward.

At the same day, Tran Nguyen Han ward commenced building a new house for Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan (62 years old) in residential group 2A who has lived in the severely damaged house for years without job and income.

As plan, Ngan’s new house is built firmly on an area of 50 square meters with a total expense of about 160 million VND (over 6,800 USD), in which 80 million VND (3,400 USD) is sourced from the local Fund for the Poor and Humanitarian Fund and the remaining amount is mobilized from the socialization source. It is expected to be completed within 2 months.

Implementing the key task in 2018 that the municipal Party Committee assigned each ward and commune to build a new house for the disadvantaged household, 3 localities have handed over the project to the beneficiaries including Da Mai, Xuong Giang and Tan Tien.

Action plan approved to boost National Single Window system
The Prime Minister has approved an action plan on promoting the National Single Window (NSW), the ASEAN Single Window (ASW) and the reform of specialized inspection of import-export goods to facilitate trade activities in the 2018-2020 period.
 
Action month for labour safety and hygiene launched
The action month for labor safety and hygiene was launched in Ho Chi Minh City on May 6, focusing on measures to prevent and control dangerous and harmful factors at the workplace so as to mitigate occupational accidents and diseases.
 
Practical activities held to care for children during Action Month for Children
Various meaningful activities are being held across the nation to offer support for children during the 2018 Action Month for Children and to celebrate International Children's Day (June 1).
