(BGO)- Bac Giang Union of Science and Technology Associations, the provincial Youth Union, Department of Education and Training and Department of Science and Technology jointly held the sum-up and award ceremony of the province’s 14th creativity competition for teens 2018 on 1 October at Ngo Si Lien High School. The event was attended by Duong Van Thai, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and representatives of related departments and agencies.
After 8 months, the Organizing Board received 426 models and products for competition. The jury selected 30 models to award including 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, 6 third prizes, 18 encouraging prizes and 2 prizes for the nicest model and youngest contestants.

The first prize worth 10 million VND (429 USD) came to the model “producing paper disks for antibiotic testing” of the group of inventors including Do Truong Giang and Nguyen Thu Trang, students of Bac Giang High School for gifted students.
Besides, 12 models were selected to compete at the national competition. Currently, 2 models and products have come to the final round.
Addressing the ceremony, Duong Van Thai highly evaluated the contest which created an ebullient emulation movement, unlocking potentials for creativity and enriching knowledge and skills of the students. He also appreciated the active participation of the authors and groups of authors.
The inventors and groups of inventors receive the second prize at the ceremony.
In addition, he requested the Department of Science and Technology, people’s committee of the districts and city and schools to continue studying and mobilizing resources to support the authors complete their products and models for practical application.
On this occasion, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of merits to 6 units and individuals for their outstanding contributions to organizing the competition. Besides, the Organizing Board launched the province’s 15th creativity competition for teens in 2019.
