The Ho Chi Minh City authorities have recently held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation (1948 – 2018) and to honor the exemplary models of the city’s patriotic movements over the past four years.

Addressing the ceremony, Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Nguyen Thien Nhan, praised the collectives and individuals who have contributed to the implementation of the patriotic movements.

At the event, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh presented the Prime Minister’s emulation flags to 12 collectives in the city in recognition of their contributions to the movements in 2017.
143 collectives and 135 individuals were also honored by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee on the occasion.
Similar celebrations were also held on June 9 in Ha Tinh and Yen Bai provinces to mark 70 years of President Ho’s patriotic emulation appeal and to applaud the outstanding examples in the local emulation movements.
