(BGO) - Le Anh Duong, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee on February 28 had a working session with the Standing Board of Son Dong district’s Party Committee on the socio-economic development situation in 2022 as well as tasks and solutions for 2023.
In 2022, the district's production value increased by 14.2%, the highest ever so far. Revenue from the forest economy reached 819 billion VND (34.3 million USD), while the rate of poor and near-poor households decreased sharply. However, due to low budget revenue, resources for development investment have not met the demand.
The view at the meeting.
Concluding the event, Duong acknowledged, praised and appreciated the efforts made by the district Party Organization, authorities and people over the past time.
He emphasized that Son Dong has seven strengths to focus on, including forestry; fruit trees and medicinal plants; husbandry; spiritual tourism and ecotourism; mining and building material production; wood processing and wind power; and cultural identity.
In the coming time, the district Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee must issue resolutions and map out projects for each strength, in which strengths must be linked to support each other. In the implementation process, they need to change the ways of thinking and doing, and assign tasks to each individual.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le O Pich voices at the meeting.
In the immediate future, the district should complete land use planning, selecting 2-3 locations to attract investment in building wood processing factories. Great attention needs to be paid to planning work, with the establishment of a steering committee on the issue. The district must also put all efforts into implementing national target programs and accelerating capital disbursement.
It should focus on building the Thanh Son Industrial Cluster, striving to put it into operation in 2024.
The provincial leader asked Son Dong to take advantage of the guidance and facilitation of agencies to develop key and OCOP products, focusing on three trees and one animal (forestry tree, fruit tree, medicinal plant and chicken) to develop specific products and goods, ensuring quantity and quality according to market requirements.
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong chairs the working session.
For the district's recommendations and proposals, the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee said that the province will coordinate with the Ministry of Transport to upgrade National Highway 31’s section from Chu township in Luc Ngan district to An Chau township this year. The province will propose allocation of capital to maintain and renovate the road section from An Chau township to Huu San commune in 2024-2025.
He assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to urgently develop price plans, striving to put the clean water works in An Chau and Tay Yen Tu townships for auction in the first six months of the year. For traffic projects, due to limited resources, the province will arrange capital to build a road connecting Ha Long city in Quang Ninh province and Khe Tau Bridge.
