Speakers at the conference.
At the conference, scientists focused on discussing issues related to approaches to socialism as a value system; the core values of socialism, such as wealth, justice, equality, democracy, freedom, etc.; the relationship between socialist values and national values; international perspectives and experiences on the value of socialism; and the values of socialism in the process of building socialism in Vietnam today and in the future.
Scientists asserted that socialism is a concept that brings universal happiness to all mankind. Therefore, socialism itself is a value and its function is to bring happiness to everyone. The values of socialism are inseparable from the universal progressive values of mankind, and the values of socialism that Vietnam is pursuing and achieving are also inseparable from the quintessential human values, as well as the good traditional values of the Vietnamese people.
Speaking at the conference, Dr. Dang Xuan Thanh, Executive Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, said that, on the basis of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought, Vietnam has and is continuing to insist on the path of building and developing the country in the socialist direction.
With the great aspirations and strength of the entire Party and population, Vietnam is making efforts to build, realise and protect the good values of socialism, he noted.
He also emphasised that the results obtained from the conference will contribute to clarifying theoretical and practical issues about the model of socialism, the socialist regime as well as the path and measures to successfully implement socialism in Vietnam. From there, there are policy consultations in order to develop the good values of socialism and create new steps for the Vietnamese revolution in the period of renewal, development and international integration.
