(BGO) - Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Vietnam and the Center for Community Support and Development Study (CECODES) jointly held an online ceremony to announce the 2019 Vietnam Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) Report on April 28. The northern province of Bac Giang ranked 4th among 63 provinces and cities, in the leading group nationwide.
According to the 2029 PAPI report, Ben Tre province ranked top nationwide followed by Dong Thap and Quang Ninh provinces. Bac Giang ranked 4th with 46.04 scores, 0.79 point lower and down 1 scale compared to 2018.
The provincial Center for Public Administrative Services regularly conducts surveys on citizens’ opinions about administrative procedures.
Bac Giang gained highest scores in 5 out of 8 benchmarks assessed including participation at local level (5.58 points), transparency (5.64 points), processing public administrative procedures (7.53 points), public service delivery (7.54 points) and environmental governance (3.87 points).
The other 3 benchmarks including vertical accountability, control of public sector corruption and e-governance gained higher scores against 2028 and ranked among medium group.
The One-stop Shop in Bac Giang city is newly invested to be modern and convenient to the citizens.
These above results were gained thanks to the provincial synchronous solutions to improve public service quality such as reducing time limit and simplifying documentation of the administrative procedures, running some supporting divisions to handle administrative procedures at the provincial Center for Public Administrative Services and applying information and technology at work.
The programmes such as Entrepreneur Café or dialogues on administrative procedures organized by the provincial People’s Committee and a number of departments, agencies and localities have been highly evaluated by citizens and enterprises.
