(BGO) – On January 9, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Lai Thanh Son received Roslyn Jackson, Director of the Swiss International Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Vietnam who visited to extend Tet greetings to Bac Giang province.
Since 2013, YWAM has closely and effectively coordinated with the competent agencies and localities in the province to implement many programmes and projects to support the rural development.

Particularly, YWAM has executed 12 programmes, projects and provided non-project aids to support the locals in Luc Nam district in poverty reduction, rural and farming development as well as the impoverished students with total value of 300,000 USD.
In the period 2018 – 2023, YWAM planned to implement 8 projects to support poverty reduction, rural development, study encouragement to the provincial women and children.
YWAM is now conducting two NGO projects in Luc Nam district with total expense of over 3 billion VND (129,400 USD), including “Improving educational quality to the children and enhancing the role of women” in Kham Lang commune” and “Developing collective rural in Bao Son commune – stage 3”.

At the same time, the organization supports to build the friendly library to Kham Lang Secondary School, provides the scholarship to the students in Bao Son and Kham Lang communes among others.
On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year of Vietnam, Director Roslyn Jackson extent the Tet greetings to the provincial leaders and relevant sectors and wished to have more chances of coordination in the future.
At the reception, on behalf of the provincial leaders, PPC Permanent Vice Chairman expressed his thanks for YWAM’s support and contribution as well as highly appreciated the organization’s consideration and selection of the beneficial subject as women and children.
The actual situation proved that the projects have been done orderly, scientifically and synchronously to help the officers and residents raise their awareness, skill, educational quality, knowledge to manage the loan source for production development and cow bank.
The projects have brought clear results, ensured the sustainability and chance to widespread in the society after completion, helping increase the local living standard, new style rural building...

To further promote the success of the implemented projects, the provincial leader Lai Thanh Son suggested YWAM to continue increasing the effectiveness and the value of the aids from the projects which have been and to be done in Luc Nam district in the future.
Also, he recommended the organization to survey the ability to execute the projects that are suitable to its operating orientation in the difficult localities and ethnic minority groups in several mountainous districts of Yen The, Son Dong and Luc Ngan.
