Bac Giang province attends “Neighboring countries ‘Mayors ‘Visiting program” in Macau SAR

(BGO)- At the invitations of the Chinese Embassy to Vietnam and Chief Executive of Macau’s Special Administrative Region (Macau SAR) of the Republic of China, the working delegation of Bac Giang province headed by Lai Thanh Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee attended the 5th “Neighboring countries ‘Mayors’ Visiting program” in Macau SAR from 26 to 28 March 2019.

This program is jointly held by the Macau SAR Government and the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in Macau to promote exchange and cooperation between the Macau SAR and China’s neighboring countries.

The representative of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in Macau welcomes the heads of the delegations.

This event lured participation of nearly 20 provinces and cities from China and its neighboring countries including Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines and Brunei.

In line with the city- matching program, there is a flurry of activities such as the symposiums on tourism, public administration and economic affairs. Besides, the delegates visited some typical cultural and economic institutions of Macau SAR. This program helps to deepen mutual understanding among the participating localities and foster cooperation and development among the parties in the economy, trade, culture and other areas.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Lai Thanh Son briefs the participants on potentials and strengths of Bac Giang province.

At this event, the Bac Giang’s delegation introduced its socio-economic situation and development orientation, policies on investment attraction, trade and tourism promotion while seeking cooperation opportunities with Macau SAR, mainland China and its neighboring countries. Bac Giang’s information received great attention from the participants.

In addition, the delegation had opportunities to exchange with and learn experiences from other countries in urban management and socio-economic development after the working sessions.

Previously, the working delegation met with the Union of Vietnamese expats in Macau on 25 March. After listening to the report on the operation of the Union and opinions of the overseas Vietnamese, Lai Thanh Son congratulated the outstanding achievements of the Union. Besides, he expected Vietnamese expats in Macau would foster the supporting activities for the home country and Bac Giang province in particular.
