(BGO) – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Giang province Nguyen Van Linh hosted Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Umeda Kunio in the province on March 13.

The meeting also drew the participation of leaders of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Japan’s Chukyo region, representatives from a number of Japanese investors in Bac Giang, and leaders of the provincial departments and agencies.
Welcoming the Japanese delegation, Linh affirmed that the visit helps promote the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Japan and between Bac Giang and Chukyo in particular.
He introduced the guest to potential and strengths of the province, as well as its preferential policies for investors.
So far, Bac Giang has hosted 23 Japanese firms with a total investment of 220 million USD, he said, adding that the province has received about 20 million USD of Japanese official development assistance.

Linh spoke highly the role and operational effectiveness of Japanese businesses in creating jobs and improving incomes for locals, significantly enhancing the quality of the locality’s education, healthcare and transport.
He expressed his hope that the Japanese side will continue accompanying Bac Giang and launching practical activities to foster bilateral friendship intensively and extensively while encouraging more Japanese companies to invest in the province.
For his part, the Japanese ambassador thanked the provincial leaders for the warm welcome, saying that he hopes to continue the close cooperation with Bac Giang to boost development affiliation.
The Japanese delegation presents cherry blossom varieties as gifts to Bac Giang.
He affirmed that the Japanese side will work with the province to organize conferences to provide orientations for the Vietnamese who go to Japan to study, work and live.
On the occasion, Japanese Ambassador Umeda Kunio visited the area growing with cherry blossom flowers in the provincial Conventional Centre and Vinh Nghiem pagoda.
