On July 28, 2017, the Bac Giang provincial Party Committee’s standing board issued a plan on the expansion of Bac Giang city with the mergence of some commune-level administrative units. At the unscheduled meeting, the People’s Committee of Yen Dung briefed the expansion plan and reported public feedback on the mergence and establishment of a new ward.
A total of 27,320 voters, or 98.75 percent, of the five localities casted their ballots in a referendum on the adjustment, of which 22,932 voters or 82.89 percent agreed.
Based on the result, the council voted to pass Resolution on the administrative boundary adjustment.
