A photo exhibition entitled ‘Smiles of Hanoi’ opened in Hanoi, on October 5, as an event to celebrate the city’s 64th anniversary of Liberation Day (1954-2018).
A total of 100 pictures on display were selected from more than 1,500 entries sent by 147 entrants in a photo contest of the same name, which was launched by the Nguoi Ha Noi (Hanoians) Newspaper and the Hanoi Artistic Photography Association in January this year.
The first-prize winning photo entitled ‘Co Giao Tre’ (Young Teacher) by Nguyen Van Luan.
The exhibit features the beauty of Hanoians through their good deeds and actions, which have contributed to making Hanoi an elegant and culturally advanced city.
The smiles of Hanoi are also seen through the images of international tourists who experience the life and culture in the city.

At the opening ceremony, the organizing board presented the first prize to Nguyen Van Luan for his photo entitled ‘Co Giao Tre’ (Young Teacher). One second, two third and nine consolation prizes were also awarded to outstanding entries.

The exhibition will run until October 7 at the Hanoi Information and Exposition Centre, 93 Dinh Tien Hoang street, Hoan Kiem district.
All revenues collected from the selling of the exhibits will be donated to people in areas hit by natural disasters in Sin Ho district, Lai Chau province.
