For the first time, Vietnam will bring a puppet performance themed climate change, to attend the fifth international puppetry festival 2018, to be held in Hanoi, from October 8 to 15.
Directed by Meritorious artist Nguyen Phuong Nhi and artist Bach Quoc Khanh, the puppetry performance is performed by artists of the Thang Long Puppet Theatre.
The 45-minute performance combines many types of puppetry.
According to Meritorious artist Nguyen Phuong Nhi, with the topic of climate change, the performance is expected to send the message of calling on the public to join hands against climate change, while raising awareness of environmental protection and energy saving.
This year’s international puppetry festival will attract the participation of puppeteers from many countries, such as Thailand, France, Philippines, Brazil, Cambodia, China, and the host, Vietnam.
Four art troupes representing Vietnam will attend the festival, including the Thang Long Puppet Theatre, the Vietnam Puppet Theatre, the Ho Chi Minh City Puppetry Arts Troupe, and the Hai Phong Puppetry Troupe.
