Japanese artists are planning to perform Yosakoi - a unique style of Japanese dance - at the walking area around Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi on April 21, as part of activities to mark the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.

The announcement was made at a meeting in Hanoi on April 19 between Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu and head of the Organising Board of the Fukuro Festival of Japan Iwata
Iwata Jinichi said that performing in Hanoi is a great honor for the Japanese troupe.
He expressed his hope that through this performance, the friendship between Tokyo and Hanoi, and between Japan and Vietnam at large, will grow ever tighter.

He recalled the close relationship between Japan and Vietnam and their capital cities, which has been enhanced through the organization of numerous festivals, including the Japanese cherry blossom festival at Ly Thai To Square beside Hoan Kiem Lake in late March.
He said that Hanoians are always willing to welcome foreign tourists, including those from Japan.
He spoke of his hope that the Yosakoi performance will bring joy for and attract the participation of visitors to the walking area, thus helping to consolidate the bilateral relationship.
