(BGO) - The Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security) has issued document to reply Bac Giang Department of Foreign Affairs about allowing foreigners to entry Vietnam to buy lychee.
Accordingly, the Immigration Department approved for 223 Chinese traders to entry Vietnam to buy lychee in Bac Giang province. These persons will receive visa at Friendship Border Gate in Lan Son province with VR sign.
Farmer in Phuc Hoa commune (Tan Yen district) is delighted at bumper early ripe lychee season with good selling price.
To date, 326 Chinese trade persons have been allowed to enter Vietnam and buy lychee in Luc Ngan district. The direct purchasing of Chinese traders help facilitate lychee consumption in Bac Giang province.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development forecasted about a bumper lychee harvest season with estimated output of 160 - 170,000 tonnes. Due to extended cold weather condition, the lychee is ripe 10 day later than previous season.
Now, Phuc Hoa commune (Tan Yen district) and some communes of Hong Giang, Thanh Hai, Tan Moc (Luc Ngan district) are harvesting early ripe lychee which is sold at 20-30,000 VND per kg depending on the fruit type.
The main season lychee is harvested in the middle of June till July 25.
