(BGO)- Recently, Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang province) has formed and developed many agricultural production chains that prove effective. In addition, a number of specialty crop growing chains have been set up.
Supporting new production chains
Earlier this year, the family of Tran Van Quyet in An Hoa village (Doan Bai commune) and six other households in Doan Bai, Luong Phong and Hop Thinh communes in the same district participated in a biosafety duck breeding chain supported by the provincial authorities. Last February, Quyet raised the first litter with more than 6,000 commercial ducks, with 50 percent of the breed costs covered by the authorities.

In addition, he was also provided with animal feed by Hai Thinh Nutrition Joint Stock Company (paying after selling the products). In return, he must comply with the technical process of biosafety breeding and sell all products to the associated unit at the agreed prices. In mid-March, he sold ducks, earning a profit of more than 180 million VND (7,830 USD) after nearly 50 days.
Le Van Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Phu AFC Clean Agriculture Cooperative in Bao An village, Hoang An commune - the associated unit, said that this chain is developed with a total budget of more than 19.7 billion VND (857,700 USD), including 1 billion VND from the State budget and the remaining from participating households. It is implemented from 2022 to 2024.
Also an agricultural production household, for many years, Nguyen Thi Kiem's family and dozens of households in Dai Dong 2 village (Danh Thang commune) have participated in a rice seed production chain for the Vietnam Seed Group Joint Stock Company - Ba Vi branch, with high-yield and high-quality rice varieties.
After many years of effective production linkages, in 2022, Hiep Hoa district has supported this chain to produce rice variety VNR20 via supplying materials and input services, organizing production, and product harvesting and selling.
The total investment is more than 4.5 billion VND (195,900 USD, of which over 1 billion VND come from the district authorities and the rest from households. The implementation period is from 2022 to the end of 2024. From 100 households in Dai Dong 2 village joining the chain with an area of 20 hectares, now with the district’s support, the respective figures are 339 households and 90 hectares/crop.
Continuing to tap local advantages
In addition to the production chains being supported by the province and district, Hiep Hoa is also home to many chains and models relating to breed and feed production, animal husbandry, slaughtering, processing and consumption by enterprises and cooperatives. Among those are the pig farming and pork processing chains of Hai Thinh Nutrition Joint Stock Company.

Or the safe vegetable production model of the Dong Tam 3 Agricultural Cooperative (Thuong Thang commune), with a scale of 14 hectares, posts 4 billion VND per year in revenue and 700 million VND per year in profit.
In addition, in October 2021, Kim Tan Minh Co., Ltd (Quang Minh commune) has experimentally planted more than 5 hectares of Bo Chinh ginseng in Hung Son commune. This is a precious ginseng species of Vietnam, originating from Quang Binh province, with genetic resources preserved by the State. Now ginseng is preparing for tuber harvest. Currently, the enterprise is exploiting ginseng flowers to supply to cosmetic manufacturers.
The above results were achieved as the local Party committees and authorities well implemented the policy of developing production chains in the spirit of the Resolution of the 24th district Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term. The district has built concentrated commodity production areas according to the planning schemes of the district and the province, while inviting and supporting enterprises and cooperatives to invest in agricultural production.
