(BGO) - Taking advantage of favorable weather and the Covid-19 epidemic brought under control, at this time, traders from many places come to Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) to buy oranges and pomelos for consumption. Many businesses, cooperatives and gardeners have developed and connected tours and routes to welcome visitors in order to make the Luc Ngan sweet fruit area more vibrant.

Delicious fruit easy to sell

Vu Cong Hien's family in Dong Quyt village (Tan Moc commune) has 5 hectares of oranges. Of which, 3 hectares of yellow oranges yield about 50 tonnes and 2 hectares of sweet oranges about 30 tonnes. A large amount of oranges are produced organically, so every year traders from other provinces drive trucks to the gardens to buy fruit. This year, traders have ordered sweet orange orchards for 50,000 VND (2.18 USD)/kg, nearly 10,000 VND/kg higher than the same crop last year.

Every day, along the roads in Tan Moc commune, trucks from Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Thai Binh and Quang Ninh provinces flock to collect goods. During the purchasing process, traders strictly follow the 5K regulations for epidemic prevention and control. Large quantities of local oranges and pomelos are consumed in the southern provinces.

Duong Thu Huong, a trader from Tu Ky district (Hai Duong province), said: “I have been going to Luc Ngan to buy oranges and pomelos for more than ten years. Most products are transported to Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces for consumption. Luc Ngan oranges and pomelos are delicious and famous for a long time, so they are easy to sell”.

According to the district Economic and Infrastructure Division, the whole district sells nearly 1,000 tonnes of oranges and pomelos every day. The prices of yellow-fleshed oranges, sweet oranges, and green-skinned pomelos all increased by 5,000-10,000 VND/kg compared to the previous half month.

Actively preventing the pandemic to welcome buyers

On weekends, Luc Ngan welcomes dozens of visiting delegations. One of the famous households with beautiful orchards and high quality products is the family of Tran Dinh En in Tan Truong village (Thanh Hai commune).

Every day, Vu Cong Hien's household (Tan Moc commune) hires nearly a dozen workers to harvest oranges.

20 years of planting sweet pomelo trees, En has developed an organically produced pomelo garden of nearly 2 hectares, with an average income of more than 1.2 billion VND (52,219 USD) per year. Since 2018, the Green Dream Bac Giang Experiential Education Co., Ltd (Green Dream Company) has coordinated with him to bring visitors to his orchard during the ripe pomelo season.

En shared: “In addition to the contract with Green Dream Company, from the beginning of the season, I and two other households developed a private tour, from sightseeing to logistics. With reasonable services, customers are very satisfied.”

Currently, a number of travel businesses have regularly brought guests to Luc Ngan. Many cooperatives in the district have also built tours and routes to welcome visitors. Along with the experience at the orchards, visitors can choose to book tours and tourism routes to destinations such as Am Vai pagoda - Chu noodle making village - Northeast Cultural Village, typical orchards in communes: Thanh Hai, Quy Son, Tan Quang, Tan Moc and Hong Giang, together with landscapes like Bac Hoa village (Tan Son commune), Cam Son lake, Khuon Than lake.

Nguyen Xuan Tuong, Director of Tre Viet International Tourism Company, said that the unit has received many suggestions for signing contacts on tours to experience the orange and grapefruit season this year. It is expected that from now until the end of January 2022, the company will organize 50 tours to Luc Ngan for delegations from Hanoi, Bac Ninh and Hai Duong.

According to Nguyen Thi Nam, head of the district Culture and Information Office, the Covid-19 epidemic is still complicated, so typical gardeners and tourism business cooperatives in the locality have been trained in pandemic prevention and control and are committed to strictly following anti-pandemic regulations.

Each delegation to Luc Ngan must not exceed 25 people. Two delegations are not allowed to visit the same orchard at the same time. Those visiting gardens or buying oranges and pomelos must be vaccinated with two doses of Covid-19 vaccine and come from the "green zone".

“Luc Ngan develops tours to experience fruit tree areas with the goal of attracting tourists, promoting and selling agricultural products, thus increasing income for farmers. Therefore, protecting the safety of fruit crops against epidemics is always the top priority of the district," said Nam.
