(BGO) – After more than one year implementing project “Building and developing commodities with provincial standard in the period 2019 - 2021”, several localities in Bac Giang province have initially created the trademark and formed many linkage chains of production and consumption, helping expand the market and increase the income to the locals.
Supporting many groups of products
In 2019, the Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) accompany 10 businesses and cooperatives to build and develop the commodity farm produce with provincial standard for such products: Yen The hill chicken, Luc Ngan lychee and Chu rice noodle in which the DoIT focused on supporting label, package and stamp for origin traceability with total cost of over 800 million VND (over 33,900 USD).
Members of Xuan Truong Chu rice noodle cooperative (Luc Ngan district) pack the products in the new package.
To date, the supported products have had eye catching package to meet the customers’ demand and formed linkage chains toward stable consumption.
Typically, Xuan Truong Rice Noodle Cooperative (Luc Ngan district) was provided 100 million VND by the DoIT in 2019 to make package, label and stamp. The cooperative used the supported expense to use the environmental friendly package and design the noodle box with various sizes, good looking color pattern and stamp for origin traceability. Therefore, it has gained more and more orders from customers.
In Yen The district, Yen The Green Agriculture Cooperative (Yen The Green Cooperative) and Giang Son Joint Stock Company (Giang Son JSC) encountered difficulties in product consumption due to lack of stamp for origin traceability years ago, leading to the customers’ confusion between the authentic products and the common ones in the open market.
According to Nguyen Van Dong, Head of Yen The district Division of Agriculture and Rural Development: “In early 2019, the DoIT selected Yen The Green Cooperative and Giang Son JSC to support more than 40 million VND to make stamp for origin traceability and package for chicken processing products. The district People’s Committee invested over 2.5 billion VND (106,100 USD) to help business, cooperative and breeders achieve sustainable breeding”.
Apart from two groups of products, lychee growers also received support to make package, label and stamp.
According to the DoIT representative, the project to build and develop commodity farm produce to reach provincial standard in the period 2019 – 2021 contributes to establishing farming areas with huge scale, creating high value and competitiveness.
The high quality products with sufficient stamp and label in line with international standard and code are easily linked to the same type of farm produce in the regional localities toward export.
In 2020, the provincial People’s Committee allocates more than 1.92 billion VND (81,700 USD) from the local budget to support the business and cooperative in the province to build and develop the provincial farm produce (in which the districts supported 400 million VND), mostly supporting 7 products of Chu rice noodle, Luc Ngan lychee, Luc Ngan orange and pomelo, Ven village green tea, Van village wine, Lang Giang mushroom, Luc Nam custard apple

Building commodity farm produce with provincial standard also facilitated the agencies, enterprises and cooperatives in production linkage.
Promoting the gained result, in 2020 the DoIT proposed the provincial authority to invest more than 1.92 billion VND (81,700 USD) from the local budget to support the business and cooperative in the province to build and develop the provincial farm produce (in which the district supported 400 million VND).

The DoIT will further consult on implementing and expanding the accepted models proving the efficiency so as to accelerate the export of provincial key farm produce. The connecting among State, scientists, farmer and business should be tighten during production, consumption, improvement of product quality while maintaining the prestige and enhancing the economic efficiency to reach the high demanding markets.
