In his opening speech, Chairman of the district People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh said, after two years of organizing, the Luc Ngan fruit festival has made it well-known. Following this success, this year the district organizes a fair of orange, pomelo and other specialty products with many new features.

"This is an opportunity to affirm the quality of local fruits and honor the working achievements of farmers, as well as create opportunities to link farmers, enterprises, scientists and state management agencies. At the same time, the fair is aimed at attracting tourists and developing garden and hill eco-tourism, step by step building a sustainable value chain for fruit trees and key products of the district," Binh said.
At the fair, the Organising Board has arranged 160 stalls (60 more than previous years) for communes and townships in the district to introduce and sell fruits as well as specialty products (rice noodles, traditional alcohol, honey ...). The fair attracts many enterprises in and outside the province who introduce and supply quality consumer products, materials

Surveys of oranges and grapefruits displayed at the fair on November 25 showed that the prices were not higher than those before the fair. The prices of oranges and grapefruits ranged from 12,000 to 50,000 VND (0.5-2.1 USD) per kg, depending on type. Sweet orange was sold at 35,000- 50,000 VND (1.5-2.1 USD) per kg while sweet pomelo was sold at 15,000-25,000 VND (0.6-1.1 USD) per fruit.
According to Standing Vice Chairman of the district People's Committee Cao Van Hoan, who is also standing deputy head of the Fair Organizing Committee, on an opening day, about 15,000-20,000 people visited and bought the products at the fair.
At the opening ceremony, delegates and visitors enjoy the delicious orange or pomelo products.
In order to create favorable conditions for tourists and people to buy goods, the district People's Committee has directed relevant agencies and the People's Committees of communes and townships to well manage the prices of products, not letting unreasonable price hikes and ensuring absolute food hygiene and safety ...
In the first two days of the fair, more than 90 tonnes of oranges and pomelos and thousands of other agricultural products were sold.

In addition, over 20 companies from Hanoi and the south came to survey gardens to sign contracts to purchase the local products with large quantities in the coming time.
As scheduled, the fair will run until November 29 with a variety of activities such as an ornamental creature exhibition and tours of typical orchards and trade villages of the district.
