Linkage in herbal medicine production

(BGO) – In this spring crop, several farmers in Phi Mo commune, Lang Giang district in the northern province of Bac Giang linked with OPC Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (OPC JSC) (Yen Dung district) to grow more than 8 hectares of herbal plants.
Ich mau plant is harvested in Than Thanh village, Phi Mo commune.
The varieties include Leonurus (Ich mau) and Desmodium styracifolium (Kim tienthao). To date, it is harvest season for over 2 hectares of Ich mau plant and the remaining areas will be cropped within June.
The products are sold out at the field by OPC JSC with the price of 3,300 VND (0.14 USD) per kilogram. The crop yields about 1 tonnes of fresh plant per sao (an old measuring unit equals to 360 square meters) on an average basis, bringing an income of more than 3 million VND (132 USD) or some 90 million VND (3,900 USD) per hectare after the cultivation period of 3 months.
