In October, the province’s socio-economic situation continued to have positive changes. Economic activities recovered strongly, especially industrial production. Industrial production value (actual price) was estimated at 32,975 billion VND (1.45 billion USD), up 5.8 percent over the previous month and 24.1 percent compared to October last year.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman Duong emphasized that Bac Giang has achieved the goal of fast and safe economic recovery post pandemic. Many socio-economic targets were achieved and surpassed. Thanks to the good control of the epidemic, many large projects continued to be invested in industrial parks in the province.

He mentioned the difficulties Bac Giang is facing in the coming time. There is a large number of people traveling freely now, posing a high risk of spreading the disease. Compensation for site clearance and leveling for projects face many difficulties. The price of live pigs is low, directly affecting the breeders as well as the re-herding and disease prevention in livestock.

Besides, Bac Giang also has advantages such as the good control of the Covid-19 epidemic, high vaccination rates, the improving business investment environment, many bottlenecks removed, and the attention from Party and State leaders.

Seizing these opportunities, Bac Giang needs to drastically and persistently implement the Government's Resolution and the provincial People's Committees Plan on flexibly adapting to and effectively and safely controlling the Covid-19 pandemic. It must focus on taking measures to have the provincial planning approved in November; while soon submitting to the Prime Minister for approval the expansion and establishment of a number of industrial zones. The province will expeditiously implement a project to build infrastructure of the Vietnam-Korea Industrial Park.

According to the provincial leader, from now to the end of the year, it is necessary to accelerate disbursement of public investment capital; ensure the safety of livestock, support farmers in selling agricultural products and growing winter crops, and help businesses recruit labourers and train skilled workers... in order to ensure continuous production.

Agencies at all levels and sectors need to work urgently, striving to exceed the set targets for an economic growth of 7 percent. They should also focus on implementing solutions to upgrade the Provincial Consumer Index (PCI), gradually naming Bac Giang in the group of provinces and cities with the leading PCI in the country.

Loans offered to 68 business owners to pay for salary in production recovery and severance

(BGO) - The Bac Giang branch of Social Policy Bank has disbursed over 4.8 billion VND (210,986 USD) as the loan for four businesses to pay for salary in production recovery and severance to 1,049 labours in line with the Government’s Resolution No.68 on July 1, 2021 and PM’s Decision No.23 on July 7, 2021 about implementation of policies to support employers and employees affected by Covid-19 pandemic.
