Regional Specialties Fair – opportunity for enterprises to expand market

Update: 20:54 | 09/12/2020

Many businesses and production units considered the annual Regional Specialties Fair, which was held by the Hanoi Promotion Agency at the Royal City trade centre in the capital city of Hanoi, an opportunity to find partners, expand their markets and boost production.

This was the first time Tien Phat Production, Trade and Service Joint Stock Company of Quy Nhon City in the south central coastal province of Binh Dinh introduced their products to Hanoi market. In addition to seafood, aquatic products and specialties of the locality, clean agricultural products that were grown in the Central Highland region (such as tea, cocoa and artichoke) were displayed at the fair. According to Ho Xuan Thang, a representative from Tien Phat Company, said that the company has distributors in many central and Central Highland provinces, especially in Da Lat.

The Regional Specialties Fair offered a chance for the company to expand its market to Hanoi and northern region, he added.

Ho Xuan Thang also noted that right from the afternoon of the first day, many distributors were showing interest in the company’s products and promised to visit its production facility.

The Bac Giang Provincial Industrial and Trade Promotion Centre participated in the fair with the role as a focal agency to promote the province’s products, with over 50 specialties such as Chu noodles, green grapefruit, sweet oranges and other agricultural products.

That was the first time the centre joined a fair as an official unit introducing the specialties of the province, not only with the role of connecting the provincial enterprises and producers with partners.

A representative from the centre said that the displayed clean agricultural products met VietGap or four-star OCOP standards or higher. In addition, the centre introduced several products from the local traditional trade villages such as Banh chung (square glutinous rice cake) and Thai Son sticky rice.

The centre had selected outstanding products from many enterprises and cooperatives to represent Bac Giang Province. The locality’s pavilion was decorated very meticulously, aiming to attract more customers and partners towards expanding the market. In the first day of the fair, many providers, such as Megamart, BigC and major supermarkets in Hanoi, met and exchanged information on the locality’s products.

Tomcare Biotechnology Limited Company also invested very carefully in the fair. Director Nguyen Thanh Hien said that the company introduced chili sauce and fermented ground chili collected from clean chili growing sources around the country. These chili products had been researched and made for a long time but this was the first time they were promoted to the northern market. Before it was introduced in Vietnam, Tomcare's fermented chili sauce had been exported to foreign countries such as Australia, the US, Canada and Russia.

According to Nguyen Thanh Hien, the northern market, especially Hanoi, is the top target of Tomcare because he believes that conquering a difficult market like Hanoi would be a great success. During the first day of the fair, many major suppliers (such as Megamart, Coopmart and BigC) exchanged information and made appointments to visit the production facility towards the signing of consumption contracts with the company.
