Building businessmen with qualification, profession and social responsibility

(BGO) – The Business Association in the northern province of Bac Giang on October 9 held a meeting to celebrate the Vietnam Businessmen Day (October 13). 

The event was attended by Nguyen Van Linh, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC); Bui Van Hanh, Vice Permanent Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; Duong Van Thai, Vice PPC Chairman and Chairman of the provincial Business Association (PBA); Nguyen Cong Bo, former PPC Vice Chairman; representatives of central and provincial National Assembly deputy delegations; Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises; Fatherland Front’s Committee; provincial department, agencies and sectors as well as local businessmen representing for 300 outstanding enterprises.

Since 2016, nearly 3,000 new enterprises have been established in the province with a total registered capital of over 30 trillion VND (1.28 billion USD), bringing the number of the provincial firms up to more than 7,900.

Currently, the operated businesses have created regular jobs to over 300,000 laborers, contributing about 93 percent to the local budget collection (excluding the land using fees) while many of them actively participate in social affairs such as caring for the national contributors, the poor and supporting to new rural building among others.

Addressing at the meeting, PPC Chairman Nguyen Van Linh acknowledged the great contribution of the business community and mentioned the opportunities and challenges.

“In the current situation, it is a crucial task to build up the strong businessmen in both quantity and quality who has sufficient capability, qualification, morality, good civilian behavior and social responsibility ”, Linh pressed.

The PPC Chairman also urged the enterprises and businessmen to make great effort on building the businessmen image, upholding business ethics, executing enterprises’ obligation correctly as legal regulation, keeping the dream of enriching for them and the nation while fully taking responsible for the laborers and thoroughly grasping the saving policies to avoid wasting and negative acts.

Besides, they should enhance the investment collaboration and linkage among the enterprises, businessmen, workers, farmers and scientists as well as connection in production and trading to form the chain of supply, production and value.

Provincial leaders and provincial Business Association award the collectives with the certificate of merit bestowed by Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Also, the active involvement in social welfare and humanity activities were encouraged to support the impoverished cases. The provincial authority will focus on synchronously implementing the solutions to reinforce the administrative laws and rules while strongly improving the investment and business environments to utmost facilitate the enterprises’ operation, PPC Linh affirmed.

On the occasion, 82 collectives and individuals who have gained high achievement in production, business to contribute to the general development of the PBA were honored with certificates of merit bestowed by Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises and PBA.
