(BGO) – The movements “Pioneering and volunteering for socio-economic development and national defence" and "Accompanying young people in setting up their business” have promoted the pioneering role of youth in Bac Giang province in starting a business, boosting economic development and trying to get rich in the locality.

Currently, Bac Giang province has 139 models of youth clubs, cooperative groups
With enthusiasm and creativity in the way of thinking and doing, he has turned his idea and passion into reality. When he was a staff member of the Bac Giang Union of Science and Technology Associations, Son implemented many projects supporting farmers in safe vegetable production. Realising the high nutritional values and favorable sale, he decided to quit his job at the State agency to invest in the green asparagus growing.

In 2016, he rented land to build a green asparagus farm on an initial area of 0.5ha using his family’s own capital of 200 million VND (8770 USD). Now, the total area is 1.5 ha, with an investment of 800 million VND (35,080 USD). Total revenue reaches 65 million VND (2,850 USD) per month and profit is 400 - 500 million VND (1,754 – 2192 USD) per year.
His model creates stable jobs for 10 regular and 10 seasonal workers. In addition, Son actively participated in activities of the youth union and associations such as supporting poor households, repaying gratitude and study promotion in the locality.

Recently, the Standing Board of the Executive Committee of the provincial Youth Union launched the "Innovative Startup Ideas in Agriculture" contest in Bac Giang province with the aim of spreading the startup spirit, providing knowledge on startup, searching and honoring innovative startup ideas in agriculture of youth union members and young people.
It attracted the attention and support of the whole society for innovative startup ideas of youth union members and young people.
Throughout the contest, many young people have come up with innovative startup ideas, such as the hi-tech clean vegetable production model of Nguyen Van Tien in Xuong Giang ward (Bac Giang city); the model of taking the forest vegetable seeds to incubators and developing an organic caring process in three districts: Yen The, Tan Yen and Luc Nam of Hoang Van Khang and Luc Van Quyet from the Yen The Forestry One-Member Company Limited; and the production of medicinal glue from gecko and Ming aralia of Ngoc Van Vien in Long Son commune (Son Dong district) ...

Than Trung Kien, Vice Secretary of the Bac Giang provincial Youth Union, said: "In order to effectively implement activities to help young people start a business such as organising communication activities on startup, searching and developing innovative startup ideas among young people; and providing advice, information, knowledge and skills for young people to start their career ..., the Executive Committee of the provincial Youth Union has built a programme to support local youth in starting a business during the period from 2018 to 2022. It aims at concretizing and orienting the implementation of youth startup support activities in Youth Union organizations from provincial level to grassroots level. Especially, realizing that financial sources for youth startups are insufficient and difficult to access, the Standing Board of the Executive Committee of the provincial Youth Union is actively coordinating with relevant units in advising the provincial People's Committee to allocate preferential credits for Bac Giang youth to set up and start their business. If approved, this will be a practical policy to promote activities supporting young people in starting a business".
